Letter J

Show & Tell:
 A Jack-o-Lantern- perfect for October:)

Handwriting:
We practiced our handwriting on the whiteboard in circle time today!

Outdoor Play:
JUMP ROPE! We enjoyed learning a new rhyme and counting as we jumped...
"____________likes to jump. _____________likes to count.
____________knows his/her numbers. Listen as she/he counts."
Followed by counting as high as they could go!

Literature:
We read the book Jennie's Hat by Ezra Jack Keats out loud in circle time

Music:
We learned the rhyme JACK & JILL WENT UP THE HILL with actions
We also learned "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt" and they thought he had the funniest name:)

Arts & Crafts:
We made Jack-o-lanterns from Paper Plates AND we colored our own faces on little pumpkins!

Circle Time:
We used Jack-O-Lantern faces on the white board to talk about emotions!  I drew a HAPPY, SAD, ANGRY, SILLY, and SCARED Jack-o-lantern and we talked about how we can handle different emotions and use our words when we are upset or sad, to tell others how we are feeling.
