Letter B

The Letter B
We enjoyed learning and discovering this week!
We worked with rubberband boards, magnets & blocks to help increase our fine motor skills.
We learned a new song during music, "I'm Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee" and then during Arts & Crafts time, we made our very own Bumblebees!
Everyone showed a lot of confidence during Show & Tell & I was impressed with what you and your children came up with that started with the letter B! Great job!
Handwriting & Coloring is an important time to help prepare your children for Kindergarten, but it is not always their favorite activity to do! If your child does not show interest in coloring or writing letters, you do not need to force it, but make it fun! If your child isn't interested in coloring with crayons, a great at home activity, would be to let them color with markers or watercolors at home. This will help encourage them to WANT to color and will help teach them to start controlling their hand movements and is a great way to help prepare for handwriting. If they don't want to practice writing their letters with a pencil, let them practice with chalk on a chalkboard or a marker on a white board! Every child loves variety and we can make their learning enjoyable together!
Our outdoor activity this week included Blowing Bubbles! They loved this and everyone enjoyed blowing bubbles for their friends to POP!
For Science we talked about Bugs and all creepy crawling things! We went on a bug hunt outside and then came in and made our own Bugs using our thumbprints! We put them in our "jars" to take home and I was impressed with their creativity, as they designed their bugs!
We had a wonderful week and are looking forward to what next week will bring:)

All About Me

We had a fun first week of school,
learning all about one another!

Everyone did great and is getting used to the daily preschool routine! I used helpers for Calendar, Weather & Counting Friends and everyone did great. We went over our preschool RULES and reminded the kids to work towards listening and following directions, earning a sticker each day, so they can pick out of the treasure box soon! The kids LOVED music time, everyone had a turn rolling my music dice and singing some familiar songs and learning some new songs! We enjoyed stamping our hand prints on the 10 Little Fingers Poem and decorating our 1st day of school picture to put in our binders! It was still quite hot outside, but enjoyed a little time outside and the kids had fun playing with their new friends! Snack time is always a favorite and we will begin passing around a snack basket this week, which the kids are always excited about taking home! Table time included fun building manipulatives that work their fine motor skills. We enjoyed reading books quietly and I read a couple stories out loud, followed by an interactive game. I had so much fun learning about their "favorites" and we found out that many of the preschool friends have a lot in common & I loved everyone's show & tell!

We looked in the mirror and talked a lot about how everyone is different,
but how we are ALL SPECIAL!!!
