About Me...

Hello! My name is Ms. Staci & I am happy to announce that I will be teaching Preschool again, beginning in January 2010. I was going to wait until Fall of 2010, but I have had several ask to start mid-year, so I'm going for it! We just moved into a new home 2 weeks ago, which is why I'm getting a late start on this school year!

For the remainder of this school year, I will be taking a YOUNGER GROUP of kids, doing PLAYSCHOOL style(2-4 year olds) & for the 2010-2011 school year, I will be taking 3-5 year olds(must be potty trained) & it will be a regularly structured PRESCHOOL.

Let me start by telling you a little bit about myself !

I was born and raised in Mesa, AZ & after graduating highschool, I decided to embark on an adventure of my own & signed up through the volunteer teaching program, ILP, and traveled to Hefei, China, to teach English to Kindergartners. I was able to spend a semester there and while it was very challenging, I quickly discovered my love of teaching! Upon returning home, I pursued my dreams in Early Childhood Education at Mesa Community College. After receiving my Associates Degree, I had the opportunity to leave home and live in Utah, where I continued working on my Bachelor in Education at BYU. I spent a year in Utah, employed at Mountainland Headstart Preschool, while attending school. I learned a great deal from this experience, as I helped plan and teach the Curriculum, rode the bus with the children to and from school each day and was in charge of the development of the children's fine and gross motor skills. At the end of the school year, I returned home to Mesa, to spend the summer with my family, with plans to return as a teacher at Headstart in the Fall.
My plans changed just a bit, when I met up with an old friend & we began to date...
6 months later, we were married and happy as ever!
I spent the next 2 years, working at Bright Horizons Childcare as the Head Infant teacher, cuddling, rocking & singing to 8 beautiful babies every day(my education temporarily on hold)! My husband began to work at University of Phoenix and I decided I wanted to finish my degree before I had children of my own! University of Phoenix offered to pay 80% of my tuition, so I gladly accepted & I graduated with a Bachelor in Management...which wasn't quite Early Childhood Education...but I was happy to have finished & was receiving LOTS of hands-on experience every day, as I continued working with children!
In January of 2007, I had a beautiful baby boy & made the decision to quit work and be a stay at home mom! That was one of the greatest decisions I have ever made, as I LOVE staying home with my kids!
The following school year, I was able to team teach with my sister Kylie, at a preschool she had ran out of her home for the past few years. I loved the opportunity I had to continue teaching & was able to learn so much from her! The following school year, I opted to "sit out" for the year, as I was pregnant with my 2nd child. I had another beautiful baby boy in December of 2008. A full time mommy to TWO is so MUCH FUN & always keeps me on my toes! I love the little moments I have with them each day and could not be happier!

After taking a year off, I'm happy to start teaching once again!
