During snack, we watched a Baseball video...
Science: We went on a bug hunt in the backyard...

"Hot Potato"---but we played "Hot Baseball" & whoever had the baseball when the music stopped, was out.
Another fun week!!!

BACK TO SCHOOL!

The 1st week of school has come & gone
and we had a WONDERFUL week!
We did an "All About Me" week, learning more about each of our new friends!

Gathering: Books & Puzzles

Circle Time:
Each child stood up, told their name & age & their favorite food...
We learned that EVERYONE is 4 years old, which the kids thought was pretty cool;)
Arts & Crafts: "I like..." Collages
We cut all of our FAVORITE THINGS out of magazines and glued them on a paper, to make collages...

Social & Public Speaking Skills:
Each child stood in front of the class and talked about the things that they put on their collages
Picture Time: We took pictures for a project that we would complete on Thursday
Snack Time: We talked about manners and saying PLEASE & THANK YOU
Math Concepts:
We counted up the number of people with Brown, Blue & Green eyes & Brown, Blonde & Black hair & then charted the results. BROWN had the majority in both categories!
We lined up by HEIGHT & talked about how we all look different, with different hair color, eye color, skin color & height & we are all special & should treat everyone kindly!
Handwriting Practice:
We practiced writing our names on the whiteboard...
Free Play: Boys went straight to the CARS...
and the girls loved the potato heads...
Arts & Crafts: We "FRAMED" our pictures that we took on Tuesday & decorated them with jewels, beads & stars...

Music Time: Shaking our instruments to the rhythm of the music!
Gross Motor Activity: "Follow the Leader"- mimicking the leader's actions(clapping hands, stomping feet, etc)
Recess: They had fun playing outside & were nice enough to stop playing, so we could take a class picture!
Finished frames!
Language & Literature: We read some fun nursery rhymes out loud & then had personal reading time with books
What a GREAT 1st week of PRESCHOOL!

I was incredibly impressed with their behavior, it usually takes awhile to get into routine, but they all were incredible listeners, very respectful & great helpers! A special THANK YOU to all of YOU(their parents!) for preparing them for a new school year, so we can jump right into learning!
